GMT automatic watch WORLD TRIP GMT - Made in Germany:
- SWISS-MADE automatic movement, caliber Sellita SW330-2: the 'Swiss Made' premium automatic movement SW330-2 from Sellita is the further development of the well-known GMT movement SW330-1 with 24-hour GMT hand for setting a second time zone. Despite the already very high accuracy ex works, each individual movement is again fine-tuned by our watchmakers. The movement has an automatic ball bearing winding in both directions, a power reserve of typically 56 hours, a second stop, 25 jewels and 28'800 vibrations per hour, which corresponds to a frequency of 4 Hz. The GMT complication as well as the date are equipped with a quick correction.
- Quality Made in Germany: all watches of the WORLD TRIP GMT collection bear the quality seal Made in Germany and are manufactured by our watchmakers in our headquarters in Würzburg. Only after an extensive quality control including water resistance test and rate test the watches leave our house.
- Double anti-reflective sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating: unlike a plastic or mineral crystal, a sapphire crystal can withstand extreme stress. With a hardness level of 9, just like the natural gemstone sapphire, only diamond can boast an even higher hardness level. Therefore, the sapphire crystal is ideal to protect the watch glass from unsightly scratches. To achieve high readability, the sapphire crystal has been double anti-reflective coated with a blue anti-reflective coating.
- Swiss Super-LumiNova: the indexes and hands of the WORLD TRIP GMT are equipped with SWISS SUPER-LUMINOVA luminous material in the "BGW9" version from the Swiss company RC TRITECT AG. The highest quality luminous material on the market guarantees a consistently high luminous intensity over many hours.
- Solid, 5-link, screwed stainless steel bracelet with double bow safety folding clasp: we have paid special attention to the quality of the bracelet. It is made of solid stainless steel and is equipped with a solid stainless steel clasp with safety clasp and double bail. The 5-piece links of the bracelet are screwed together and can be removed with a standard screwdriver.
- 300m/30bar water resistant: the WORLD TRIP GMT is not a classic diver's watch but it can be used for diving. Due to the complex case construction as well as the screw-down crown and the screw-down solid case back, we can guarantee a water resistance of 300m/30bar.

Meine zweite Gigandet......
Meine zweite Gigandet….und auch hier wurde ich wieder positiv überrascht. Die Uhr hat durch seine polierten Mittelglieder sowie dem polierten Lünettenkranz ein unheimlich schönes Feuer, welches durch das hochwertige Glas noch unterstrichen wird. Die gesamte Uhr spielt schön mit dem Licht, wirkt sehr hochwertig und edel, ohne aufdringlich zu sein. Das neue „Jubilee“ Band läßt sich hervorragend anpassen und zieht nicht an den Haaren. Verarbeitung, Passgenauigkeit und Finish sind auch bei dieser Uhr auf sehr hohen Niveau. Die Lünette ist exakt mittig gesetzt, hat aber ein klein wenig Spiel. Das Gewinde der Krone ist spürbar kürzer, als bei meiner Gigandet Sea Ground 300 Ceramic, läßt sich aber auch sehr genau und leicht bedienen. Die Leuchtmasse auf dem Zifferblatt ist wie gewohnt sehr gut und leuchtet die ganze Nacht durch. Was der Uhr gut steht, ist die geringere Bauhöhe im Vergleich zu den Sea Ground Modellen. Mit der World Trip GMT begibt sich Gigandet in eine höhere Liga, was den Preis sowie die Ausstattungsmerkmale angeht. Gerade durch das verbaute SW 330-2 mit 56 Stunden Gangreserve schließt man nun zu Premiumherstellern auf, welche in 4-stelligen Preislagen spielen. Man kann die World Trip keinesfalls mehr mit einer Steinhart vergleichen. Die Gigandet ist m.E. einer Ocean One GMT in allen Belangen überlegen. Ich vergleiche die neue Gigandet nun eher mit (m)einer Davosa Ternos Professional GMT. Die Davosa hat zwar den Vorteil einer Keramik-Lünette, aber noch das alte Sellita Werk mit nur 42 Stunden Gangreserve verbaut. Gemessen am Preis (€ 1348,- Davosa vs € 830,- Gigandet) ist die Gigandet mit ihrer guten Ausstattung nun eine echte Alternative zu Davosa. Für mich ist die neue Gigandet (auch momentan mit der Alu Lünette) eindeutig der Preis-Leistungs-Sieger und die beste Wahl, wenn man eine hochwertige „GMT-Hommage“ kaufen möchte.

Die Uhr ist absolute Spitze!
Über das aussehen wurde ja schon berichtet, einfach nur Klasse die Verarbeitung. Aber was die Ganggenauigkeit betrifft muss ich noch etwas hinzufügen, für eine Elaboré-Ausführung des SW330-2 ist das Werk absolute Spitze, nur max. 2 Sekunden Abweichung pro Tag schafft nicht mal mein Chronometer von einer Marke die das fünffache gekostet hat. Vielen herzlichen Dank an den Uhrmacher der sie Feinreguliert hat.

A coincidence? the story
For more than 30 years, everything for the founders Christian Schmitt and Hans Meeder has revolved around their passion WATCH. As chance would have it, Hans Meeder got his hands on a gift from his uncle from 1976, complete with the original invoice, at just the right time: it was a beautiful Gigandet sports watch with the design typical of the 1970s. The discovery did not let Hans Meeder go. Subsequent research revealed that Gigandet watches had disappeared from the market. Her intuition for brands and her passion for timepieces, together with her experience in technology and sales, led her to the decision to revive the Gigandet brand.
