Our passion for watches



For more than years, everything for the founders Christian Schmitt and Hans Meeder has revolved around their passion WATCH. As chance would have it, Hans Meeder got his hands on a gift from his uncle from 1976, complete with the original invoice, at just the right time: it was a beautiful Gigandet sports watch with the design typical of the 1970s.

Gigandet: a brand rich in tradition today

The company Charles Gigandet S.A. was founded in Switzerland after the 2nd World War. The distribution of the watches was successful mainly in the USA and Europe. Around 1970/80 the market for mechanical watches collapsed, due to the successful introduction of high quality quartz watches as well. As a result, Gigandet had to stop production and the company was abandoned...

A coincidence? the story

For more than 30 years, everything for the founders Christian Schmitt and Hans Meeder has revolved around their passion WATCH. As chance would have it, Hans Meeder got his hands on a gift from his uncle from 1976, complete with the original invoice, at just the right time: it was a beautiful Gigandet sports watch with the design typical of the 1970s. The discovery did not let Hans Meeder go. Subsequent research revealed that Gigandet watches had disappeared from the market.

Our vision is our drive

Our vision is to continue the legacy and philosophy of CHARLES GIGANDET. We see this as a personal responsibility, this encourages us to go this way. Our long experience for timepieces, together with the enthusiasm for craftsmanship, led us to the decision to revive the brand GIGANDET.

Bei Gigandet bleibt keine Frage unbeantwortet und keine Information auf der Strecke. Unser ausgebildetes Fachpersonal steht Ihnen telefonisch oder per Mail zur Verfügung. Sehr spezielle Fragen beantworten auch gerne unsere Uhrmacher direkt am Telefon.

Solange eine Uhr reibungslos läuft, raten wir grundsätzlich von einer voreiligen Revision ab. Frühestens ab dem vierten Jahr nach Kauf empfehlen wir, sich Gedanken über eine Revision zu machen. Sollten Sie sich dafür entscheiden, können wir diese an jeder von uns erworbenen Uhr durchführen und dadurch eine lange Haltbarkeit garantieren.

Sie haben ein älteres Modell unserer Uhren und möchten dieses gerne auf unsere neuesten Standards modernisieren lassen? Das ist kein Problem. So können wir bei ausgewählten Modellen der G300 Serie die Aluminium-Lünette durch eine Keramiklünette ersetzen. Bei unseren G2 Modellen kann das Mineralglas gegen ein kratzfestes Saphirglas ausgetauscht werden. Bei Interesse können Sie uns einfach per Telefon, Mail oder Fax kontaktieren.

How long is my right of withdrawal valid when I order in your online store?

We are convinced of the impeccable quality of our watches, nevertheless, you enjoy 100 days right of withdrawal from the purchase and you can return the watch without any hassle.

Can I just change the straps on your watches by myself?

Yes.
For our stainless steel bracelets, all you need is a small screwdriver to push the spring bar together at the case band joint and remove the bracelet.
If you want to have a leather strap on your watch, you can mount one of our many original leather straps with an easy-release function without any tools at all.

How long will shipping take within Germany if I order from you today?

Delivery takes 1-3 business days. Orders placed before 2:30 pm (except prepayment) will be shipped on the same business day. In addition, we offer free delivery throughout Germany - regardless of the order value.

Can I have individual customizations on the watch with you?

With pleasure.
We can make almost any modification request as long as it is technically feasible. You would like to have a different dial, bezel or bracelet than the one provided for your model? Feel free to contact us by mail or phone.
