Swiss-made automatic movement, Soprod, Newton P092 caliber: After several years of development, Swiss watch movement manufacturer Soprod, based in Tramelan, has launched its new reference caliber, the NEWTON P092. The most striking technical difference to other automatic movements is that the balance wheel is attached to a balance bridge instead of a balance cock. This gives the movement a high degree of stability and is otherwise only found in much more expensive movements. Despite their excellent accuracy ex works, our watches are further fine-tuned by our watchmakers.
Quality Made in Germany: All watches in the RED BARON collection bear the Made in Germany seal of quality and are manufactured by our watchmakers at our headquarters in Würzburg. The watches only leave our premises after undergoing extensive quality control, including water resistance and accuracy tests.
Double anti-reflective sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating: Unlike plastic or mineral glass, sapphire crystal can withstand extreme stress. With a hardness rating of 9, just like the natural gemstone sapphire, only diamond has a higher hardness rating. This makes sapphire crystal ideal for protecting watch glass from unsightly scratches. To achieve high readability, the sapphire crystal has been double anti-reflective coated and covered with a blue anti-reflective coating.
Swiss Super-LumiNova: The indices and hands of the RED BARON pilot's watch are coated with SWISS SUPER-LUMINOVA luminous material in the “C1” and "Old Radium" version from the Swiss company RC TRITECT AG. The highest quality luminous material on the market guarantees high luminous intensity for many hours.
Elegant calfskin leather strap: The handcrafted calfskin strap gives the watch a certain exclusivity and guarantees maximum comfort.

Seit über 30 Jahren dreht sich für die Gründer Christian Schmitt und Hans Meeder alles um ihre Leidenschaft UHR. Der Zufall wollte es, dass Hans Meeder zum richtigen Zeitpunkt ein Geschenk seines Onkels aus dem Jahr 1976 samt Originalrechnung in die Hände fiel: Es war eine wunderschöne Gigandet-Sportuhr mit dem für die 70er Jahre typischen Design. Die Entdeckung ließ Hans Meeder nicht mehr los. Bei der folgenden Recherche stellte sich heraus, dass die Uhren von Gigandet vom Markt verschwunden waren. Ihr Gespür für Marken und ihre Leidenschaft für Zeitmesser, zusammen mit ihrer Erfahrung für Technik und Vertrieb führte Sie zu dem Entschluss, die Marke Gigandet wiederzubeleben. Ihre Mission: die Entwicklung von Qualitätsuhren mit Charakter abseits der Masse - authentisches Lebensgefühl inklusive.

Die Geschichte von Gigandet

Die Firma Charles Gigandet S.A. wurde nach dem 2. Weltkrieg in der Schweiz gegründet. Der Vertrieb der Uhren war vor allem in den USA und Europa erfolgreich. Um die Jahre 1970/80 ist der Markt für mechanische Uhren zusammengebrochen, bedingt durch die erfolgreiche Einführung auch hochwertiger Quarzuhren. In der Folge musste Gigandet die Produktion einstellen und die Firma wurde aufgegeben...

As long as a watch runs smoothly, we generally advise against a premature service. We recommend considering a service at the earliest from the fourth year after purchase. Should you decide to do so, we can carry this out on every watch purchased from us and thereby guarantee long-lasting durability.

Do you have an older model of our watches and would like to have it modernized to our latest standards? That's no problem. For selected models of the G300 series, we can replace the aluminum bezel with a ceramic bezel. For our G2 models, the mineral glass can be exchanged for scratch-resistant sapphire glass. Can I just change the straps on your watches by myself?

Yes.
For our stainless steel bracelets, all you need is a small screwdriver to push the spring bar together at the case band joint and remove the bracelet
If you want to have a leather strap on your watch, you can install one of our many original leather straps with an easy-release function without any tools at all.

Can the watch also be wound by hand?

Yes.
To do this, you must loosen the screw connection. You can then wind the watch clockwise by hand. Afterwards, however, you should be sure to screw the crown back in correctly so that the water resistance is guaranteed.

Can I have individual adjustments on the watch with you?

Yes.
