The new SEA GROUND 3000 automatic watch carries forward the design language of GIGANDET’s early skin-diver models. It is powered by the SOPROD automatic caliber NEWTON P092, whose balance wheel is securely supported by a bridge rather than just a single-sided cock, ensuring increased stability. With a diameter of over 40 millimeters and water resistance up to 300 meters, this newcomer is assembled in Würzburg and rightfully bears the quality seal “Made in Germany.” The rugged Newton P092 movement from Soprod delivers reliable performance in our diver’s watch. Despite its naturally high timekeeping precision, each individual movement is finely regulated by our watchmakers. The caliber features automatic winding and offers a power reserve of more than 44 hours.

No GIGANDET watch leaves our manufactory without the loving handwork and the scrutinizing eyes of our master watchmakers, as well as a detailed final quality control.

Our passion for watches

For more than years, everything for the founders Christian Schmitt and Hans Meeder has revolved around their passion WATCH. As chance would have it, Hans Meeder got his hands on a gift from his uncle from 1976, complete with the original invoice, at just the right time: it was a beautiful Gigandet sports watch with the design typical of the 1970s.

Gigandet: a brand rich in tradition today

The company Charles Gigandet S.A. was founded in Switzerland after the 2nd World War. The distribution of the watches was successful mainly in the USA and Europe. Around 1970/80 the market for mechanical watches collapsed, due to the successful introduction of high quality quartz watches as well. As a result, Gigandet had to stop production and the company was abandoned...

A coincidence? the story

For more than 30 years, everything for the founders Christian Schmitt and Hans Meeder has revolved around their passion WATCH. As chance would have it, Hans Meeder got his hands on a gift from his uncle from 1976, complete with the original invoice, at just the right time: it was a beautiful Gigandet sports watch with the design typical of the 1970s. The discovery did not let Hans Meeder go. Subsequent research revealed that Gigandet watches had disappeared from the market.

Our vision is to continue the legacy and philosophy of CHARLES GIGANDET. We see this as a personal responsibility, this encourages us to go this way. Our long experience for timepieces, together with the enthusiasm for craftsmanship, led us to the decision to revive the brand GIGANDET.

As long as a watch runs smoothly, we generally advise against a premature service. We recommend considering a service at the earliest from the fourth year after purchase. Should you decide to do so, we can carry this out on every watch purchased from us and thereby guarantee long-lasting durability.

Do you have an older model of our watches and would like to have it modernized to our latest standards? That's no problem. For selected models of the G300 series, we can replace the aluminum bezel with a ceramic bezel. For our G2 models, the mineral glass can be exchanged for scratch-resistant sapphire glass. If you are interested, you can simply contact us by phone, email or fax.

How long is my right of withdrawal valid when I order in your online store?

We are convinced of the impeccable quality of our watches, nevertheless, you enjoy 100 days right of withdrawal from the purchase and you can return the watch without any hassle.

Can I just change the straps on your watches by myself?

Yes.
For our stainless steel bracelets, all you need is a small screwdriver to push the spring bar together at the case band joint and remove the bracelet.
If you want to have a leather strap on your watch, you can mount one of our many original leather straps with an easy-release function without any tools at all.

How long will shipping take within Germany if I order from you today?

Delivery takes 1-3 business days. Orders placed before 2:30 pm (except prepayment) will be shipped on the same business day. In addition, we offer free delivery throughout Germany - regardless of the order value.

Can I have individual customizations on the watch with you?

With pleasure.
